Let’s not deceive ourselves

Let us not deceive ourselves. The NASS is a tightly guarded place. No unauthorized persons can just walk into the Senate chamber, with its extra security, and walk away with the Mace.

Every visitor to the NASS is screened before admittance. Even the press/media crew cannot gain access without accreditation and clearance from the NASS leadership.

Contrary to what most people think, entrance into sensitive areas of the NASS can only be cleared by the NASS Management after clearance from its leadership. It is not the IGP or the Executive who gives such clearance.

My point is, people should read between the lines and stop pointing accusing fingers at the Government.

The Senate leadership should be asked about what happened in the Senate yesterday and how the Mace got stolen. After all, was it in the same NASS that a national budget got missing, only to be found in one of the leaders’ car? Was it not in the same NASS that the Senate standing rule was falsified to make a leeway for the Senate current leadership to emerge?

It beats me how people blame government for what happens in the NASS.
