Saraki and the Police

While it may be right to criticize President Buhari and his appointees for alleged acts of impunity, it is equally incumbent on us to call out those perceived to be victims of government impunity where they themselves go wrong.
Senate President Bukola Saraki, wrongly or rightly touted to be victimized by Buhari, has no further reason to shun police invitation. He is a law maker – in fact, the No. 1 law maker of the land. He should therefore play by the books. He should honour the Police invitation extended to him. That is rule of law.
If the Police say they have credible evidence that the No. 1 law maker of the country has links to, and fingered by, the Offa bank robbers who murdered 31 citizens of the country in cold blood, it is incumbent on the law maker to go clear his name.
All well-meaning Nigerians should insist that Saraki honours the police invitation. It is not about individuals here. It is about our institutions of state.
