INTRODUCING THE “AS I SEE IT” SERIES

In the 1990s, Delta Broadcasting Service, FM Stereo Warri, had a program it aired every Saturday called "Na So We See Am". Na So We See Am was a radio program that was educative, informative and entertaining all rolled into one. It was a program that delivered stories about otherwise serious issues in comic fashion. It was also some sort of satire.
The program featured three funny characters, namely Agogo, Waka About and See-see-see.
In this comic radio show, Agogo, the anchor was the equivalent of the village town crier, broadcaster or gossip, if you like; Waka About was the village loafer who was always derided and ignored, yet he was an authoritative source of information. The last, See-See-See, was the equivalent of the wise old man who usually had all the answers to every conceivable question or problem
The trio of Agogo, Waka About and See-see-see delivered their program in typical "Waffi" pidgin English. The program covered everything from current affairs, politics, economy, sports, fashion, entertainment, gossip, music, video etc. These were delivered in flawless pidgin peculiar only to the Niger-Delta city of Warri. Sometimes "Baffi" was employed. Baffi was the pidgin of the Edos. The latter was a carry-over from the "Una Good Morning Show" anchored by the inimitable Felix Ogie of the then Radio Bendel, Benin City. Agogo, Waka About and See-See-See were part of the crew of Felix Ogie before the then Bendel State was divided into Edo and Delta.
"As I See It" would attempt to take the mould of Na So We See Am. It will be a forum where I will be giving my opinion, periodically, of government policies, programs, actions and prnouncements. The opinion would as much as possible ex-ray both sides of the coin in order to arrive at a balanced perspective. It will be expressed in print, and picture where possible. It will also be interactive in order to enrich and enliven it.
