I shared the Premium Times story that has now turned out to be false, and for which the online news media has apologized. I not only shared it, I authored a short piece based on it. In that short piece, I urged President Buhari to commence the process of declaring Miyetti Allah Cattle Rearers Association as a terrorist organization if what was allegedly said by its North Central leader – one Mr. Ciroma – was true about the recent Plateau mass killing being a retaliation for some cows rustled.
It has now turned out that Mr. Ciroma never made such statement. Needless to say I was misled by Premium Times.
In light of the above, I hereby offer my own apology and withdraw my said piece forthwith.
