Lest we forget

This is North-east Nigeria, some 3 years ago, at the height of Boko Haram insurgency. Nigerians – whole communities, villages, towns and cities – running for dear life.
Those who caused this – or at least sat by and watched this happen – are today scheming to come back. They have dispersed in various directions. Some are now in the NASS; some in the APC; some have relocated abroad, while others still remain in the party that was in power and watched this happen.
From these various locations they are today scheming to come back – perhaps to finish the carnage they started. They have used all sort of means including Militants and IPOB, but God has refused to allow them bury this country.
He came and put a stop to this carnage. Yes, I know there are still pockets of suicide bombing, but there is no more wholesale sacking of communities and towns by Boko Haram as depicted in the above picture. The terrorist sect has been decimated and its rank and file scattered; some may have sought refuge in the clan of the migrant herdsmen. Still, they have lost the teeth for group bite.
Yes, he is not perfect. He is a mere mortal after all, but whatever his personal failings are I will forever appreciate Muhammadu Buhari for working assiduously to put a stop to this.
Today, communities sacked three years ago by Boko Haram are back in their abode trying to rebuild their life. Only someone inexplicably possessed by hatred will not appreciate Buhari for this feat.
I wish you full and speedy recovery Mr. President.
