Now, to the little matter of my New Year Resolutions

I have never actually made any new year resolution. In fact, I believe it is useless making one. What is the point making a resolution that will never be observed? I don't deceive myself biko. Whenever I feel like doing something new, or changing something about my life, I just simply do it – like Nike. I don't wait for a new year.
Or….well, may be I actually do have one constant new year resolution. And it is never to make a new year resolution but to have some abiding set of rules
So here are my golden rules:
1. I am for some people, not EVERYBODY, and I don't give a damn. Got it?
2. As long as you wish my country Nigeria to break up, or become a failed state, I am not for you and you are not for me.
3. As long as you keep prowling all over the Internet searching for news of Boko Haram or pipeline bombings or some other tragedy to celebrate on your wall because you are still bitter and angry that your tribesman or religious brethren is not the President, I am not for you and you are not for me.
4. As long as you continue to wish the government of President Muhammadu Buhari failure, I am not for you. Anyone wishing that President Buhari fails is also wishing that Nigeria fails. And so for that, I am not for you and you cannot be for me. It is not about Buhari as a person; it is about our country Nigeria. Buhari just happens to be the one Nigerians chose to lead us at the moment. Tomorrow it could be someone else. Let Buhari's performance speak for him and if we are not satisfied, we have our voters card to effect a change in 2019 or 2023. No other way is acceptable to me.
5. As long as you keep whipping up cheap sentiments – ethnic, religious, gender and or political – daily to further divide a people struggling to come together, I am not for you and we cannot be for each other.
6. As long as you choose to disrespect other people's views/rights, and instead go about insulting and calling people names for theirs views, I cannot be for you and you cannot be for me.
7. Finally, as long as you choose to disobey the laws of the land in any manner, I am against you
I, FRANK OLISA OFILI, am not a politician, an elected or appointed official of government. I am a private citizen in private practice, and I have no intention, for now, of seeking government appointment. so I have every RIGHT to determine who I am for or not for, unlike President Buhari.
If I ever hold any public office, then I can decide to be for EVERYBODY, just like President Buhari.
Happy New Year once again.
