The on-going Imo Carnival doesn't make sense to me.

A government that cannot pay salaries and allowances to its workers…..

A government that sacked thousands of its workers for inability to retain them…..

A government that has by fiat proclaimed only three days’ work week because it says it can no longer afford to pay for full five day work week…….

A government that has received bail out funds from the Federal Government and yet not able to fulfill its obligations to the people…….

A government that is devising all possible crooked means to illegally deny its retired civil servants their legitimate pension arrears……

A government that not too long ago spent a whopping N600 million on one Christmas tree……

A government that spent some N21 billion on "consultancy services" out of N25 billion it received as bailout fund from the Federal Government.

This is the same government that has declared two weeks compulsory holiday for its citizens to celebrate Yuletide. How can a people celebrate when you have denied them their legitimately earned income? Why on earth should a people be forcefully sent on such a long holiday at a time of economic recession when they should be working more?

Yet this is the same government spending millions, perhaps billions of scarce resources, only to gather people and make them dance round an open stadium in the name of carnival!

Governor Rochas Okorocha is something else!

But if he is a leadership mistake the people he superintends over who see these anomalies and left him alone to cast aspersions on President Buhari in faraway Abuja, are a tragedy. I won't be surprised if tomorrow Okorocha becomes their hero.
