CRAZY DEMANDS
426 views
Hey, you Niger Delta militants,
You have tabled some demands that should be met before you negotiate.
I am still trying to make sense out of some of those demands of yours. You should know that some demands are as curious as they are bizarre and unacceptable
One of your demands is that the charges against Col. Sambo Dasuki be withdrawn. Honestly, I don’t know how this demand helps your so-called struggle. Are you confused or what?
Dasuki is a scion of the establishment you militants claim have marginalized your people and cornered all the oil wells in your land
Dasuki was the man directly and indirectly responsible for the defeat of your hero in the last Presidential election. Don’t ask me how; if you think deep enough, you would understand how. The man even admitted that he “strategically” positioned things to make your hero’s “enemy” win. I dispute the claim though. However, he said so with his own mouth
This is Dasuki his own people are not even asking that his trial should be discontinued
Now, you are reminding them that they ought to agitate that his trial be stopped. I guess when they start to do that, you would then cry of foul play abi?
This was Dasuki that squandered money gotten from the oil flowing from your land. He shared the money among his friends, many not from Niger Delta.
This is Dasuki that has admitted his malfeasance
This isDasuki that said he had the approval of your hero who was the President then to share out your money
So now who is short-changing who? Your son has the opportunity to address the alleged short-changing but he didn’t, instead he joined in the short-changing of your region. Have you asked who owns Malabu oil field? This oil field was hurriedly sold in the dying days of your hero. It is the largest oil field in Africa.
So you want corruption charges of your selected few dropped? Do you really understand what you are demanding? You are in effect demanding that the corrupt system/process that made it possible for your people to be short-changed should not be addressed.
You also want the charges against Tompolo dropped. Ok, this I can understand, but let me ask you a question? How much of all the billions of Dollars Tompolo made from shady deals is reflected in your region? How much of the billions he got as result of amnesty passed through your land? How much of all the billions of Dollars your madam in London cornered pass through your region?
You want Tompolo’s Maritime University to be returned to him. I agree that the school should not be scrapped but I equally disagree that it should be returned to Tompolo. From what we now know, if the school is returned to Tompolo he will simply use it to train more militants. So, I opine that the school should not be scrapped but it should be taken over by the Federal Government. Any institution of learning should never be scrapped. Common, we don’t even have enough of them. So I support you in this demand. But on the other demands? Na!
And now I hear you have also added Nnamdu Kanu to the list of those whose trial you want to be discontinued
Make una continue, una hear
With your demands, you have simply proven that you are the military wing of the opposition party. You have proven that you are a pawn in the hands of those who ran this country aground. I don’t know the relationship between some of your demands and the true Niger Delta struggle.
Your demands are more political than economic.
I don’t think you give a damn about the greater majority of the suffering Niger Delta people. You are simply fighting for the interest of the clique who want to continue using the Niger Delta struggle to enrich themselves. If not, you should have supported the Ogoni land clean-up launch which your hero couldn’t do. You should not have threatened the President not to dare step foot on Ogoni soil if truly you support the clean-up project.
