OF CYNICISM AND SARCASM II – by Prof Chris Nwaokobia

"I read a few days ago a cynical and sarcastic critic asking 'when next will our President visit Nigeria?'. Never have I seen such humongous dislocation from reality and truth as the scathing criticism of Mr President's foreign trips.
Truth is that we cannot sincerely call for a re-invigorated economy and criticize shuttle diplomacy except we are blinded by partisanship, same way we cannot lampoon the fight against corruption and pretend to want a NEW Nigeria.
I am aware that the shuttle diplomacy of Mr President has brought great support against insurgency, we have not only received financial support and Hard-wares against the Haramists, we can proudly procure arms to re-arm our Armed Forces. I am certain that even the greatest critic of Mr President knows that Nigerians are prouder everywhere in the world today than they were yesterday.
I am sure that the present commitment by several Multi-national Companies to engage in huge capital JV projects to develop our Infrastructure and reposition our economy derives from the renewed faith in Nigeria, one emboldened by the integrity of the present Leadership and accentuated by the shuttle diplomacy of Mr President.
The trip to Saudi Arabia and Qatar addresses predominantly the need to muster international support against the fall in Oil Price, one that gives great hope that Global Oil price may soar to $50 per barrel in no time. What greater short term economic buffer can one contrive whilst diversifying into Agriculture and Solid Minerals?
I am sure that if we think Nigeria and put COUNTRY FIRST the preponderance of frosty, bitter, insulting, cynical and sarcastic debates that liter our space shall etiolate and we shall make Nigeria great again.
God Bless Nigeria."
