NO BANKING DAY? ABEGI! – by Frank Ofili

Earlier this week I received all sorts of inbox messages (mail and Facebook), BBM and WhatsApp from an organization known as CAFON, urging me to boycott banking services because of what they said was excessive charges. I had asked how was I supposed to do that, and why indeed I should do that, but no one was able to give me a satisfactory answer.
How anyone would expect me to join in boycotting banking services, even for one day, beats me. So they expected me to go back to 17th Century and start putting my money under my bed? Or bury it in a hole?
I like bank charges for the simple reason that the more the banks charge me, the more I appreciate how much God has blessed me financially. If you don’t have money in the banks to warrant their services, why should you expect me, or anyone who has, to join you in boycotting them?
Did I complain to you that the banks are charging me too much? I am happy with what my bank is charging me, so don’t drag me into your needless protest.
Why didn't these people simply admit that they were surreptitiously protesting the N50 Stamp Duty charge recently introduced by the Federal Government? If they thought I would join their in your needless protest, they were gravely mistaken. I like the Stamp Duty charge, and I would gladly pay it to help the government.
Now talking from spiritual point of view which is rare with me, I have realized that some people have eyes but they can't see. They don't know that bank charges are an indication of the volume of activities in their bank accounts? The more volume of transactions they have in their accounts, the more the bank charges.
High volume of activity in your bank account is often an indication of high financial prosperity. It also means the more work you give to the banks. So now, do you want the banks to serve you without payment? If so, then I dare say you are wicked and stingy. You have what we call in Enuani "afor njor". Abeg commot for road make I pass!
What you should worry about is if your bank charges are legit. If you find that there is any that is not, then you should complain to your bank manager. If your bank manager does not address your concerns, then petition the CBN.
But to ask me to boycott banking services? Mba nu! I want more bank charges because I want more money in my account. It is only someone with an "ikpa" mentality that would quarrel over bank charges.
I am rich, I am prosperous, and I have fat bank account. So I don't give a damn about bank charges.
