Former of Interior Minister, Abba Moro, has been remanded in Kuje Prisons. Abba Moro is standing trial for the 2014 Immigration recruitment scam in which tens of job-seeking Nigerian youths lost their lives due to stampede arising from shoddy arrangement.
As Minister of Interior, Abba Moro's portfolio included the Prison Service. Nigerian prisons are in urgent need of reform. Among other short-comings, there is over-crowding and poor sanitary conditions in all the prisons across the country
If only Abba Moro knew what was awaiting him, he would have done everything possible to reform the Nigerian Prison Service. Now the chickens have come home to roost. Talk of poetic justice.
