BBNaija Lockdown – by Frank Ofili31 views
The ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show, also known as, BBNaija Lockdown, has seriously degraded from its four previous editions. Aside Laycon, this set of BBNaija housemates are not the real Nigerians. Seems money bags have hijacked the show. They now buy spots for their children.
This set, and the last set, are too tush abeg. There is no Naija character and spirit in them. All they parade is their body parts, and of course, sex and sexism.
If Erica, Nengi, and Dorathy are annoying, Kiddwaya and Ozo are more annoying with their ‘sme sme’ and feel of superiority. Ozo is even worst with his fine-boy nice-guy legbere disposition towards Nengi. For crying out loud, can’t he see Nengi is using him to prolong her stay in the house with her pretentious romance with him?
Where are those boys and girls with the street language and character of Efe, Karen, Gideon, Frank, Ola, Bisola et al? Those boys and girls with the typical Naija characteristic of brashness, creativity, resilience, and dominance.
Why do I need to watch these over-pampered lot who pride themselves of having travelled all over the world because they are born to rich families? I want to watch typical Nigerian boys and girls born and brought up in slums like Ajegunle in Lagos, Iyara in Warri or remote villages like Aninwalo or Ugbukurusu in Delta State.
I want to know how they made it to the Big Brother house, how they made it to limelight from their humble background. I want to hear their hustles, their stories. Or is it not what Big Brother reality show is all about?
